This extremely slow growing tree is ideal for drought tolerant or xeriscape gardens. Long grass like green leaves appear all year round on tree like stems with a base that forms an island shape first then starts to grow up in height. Small cream yellow flowers start in late Winter to Spring on tall, thick blue purple stalks once mature. Full to half day sun, prune off old leaves and flower stalks. Caution leaves are sharp, not recommended for planting in narrow planter beds. Great for containers.
