This turnip like bulb is great for drought tolerant gardens. Showy Yucca like blooms on tall stalks will form in Summer when the bulb has reached a mature age. Following the bloom are broad Lily like leaves that disappear in early Summer and return by Winter. Bulbs swell a large caudex that can reach up to 5 pounds. Great container plant. Caution: Poisonous, juice from bulbs can irritate skin.
